About Youth Sport Project
The United States is the only developed sporting nation that does not have a nationally funded, government sponsored sport development organization and strategy. The US Olympic Committee although charged with the development of amateur athletics and participation through the Amateur Sports Act, is unfunded by the government and thus has to focus its limited resources on the support of the national governing bodies for sport and the preparation of athletes for Olympic competition.
